Power Supply
📘
Radonix Control Boards are Connected to the Power Supply via a 3-Pin Connector
The 24V+ pin of the control boards is connected to the positive terminal, while the GND pin is designed to be connected to the negative terminal. This connector has two GND pins, and the GND connections within the control board are internally linked. Therefore, it is sufficient to connect the negative terminal to either of the GND pins.

The positive terminal in the power input of the control board is protected by a diode, which prevents damage to the control board in case of reverse polarity. The electronic schematic of the control board’s power circuit is shown in Figure 4.

The power supply voltage should be between 18 and 28 volts and should provide approximately 0.5 amperes of current. The most suitable power supplies for Radonix control boards are switching power supplies, which are not significantly affected by fluctuations in mains voltage. Therefore, it is recommended to use 24-volt switching power supplies for Radonix control boards.
To calculate the required current for the power supply in the electrical panel, the current consumption of each component connected to the power supply must be summed. For example, if there are 4 relays, 3 pneumatic valves, and one control board connected to the power supply in an electrical panel, the current consumed by the relays and valves can be calculated using Ohm’s Law (V = I × R). These values, with a safety margin of a few percent added, are used to determine the required current of the power supply.
Assuming the relays consume 0.1A and the valves consume 0.25A:
Total Current = Control Board Current + Relay Current + Valve Current
Therefore, selecting a 2-amp power supply provides a sufficient safety margin.
It is essential to calculate the current consumption of components that place a significant load on the power supply. Examples of such components include the brakes of servo motors and pneumatic valves. The current of these components can be easily calculated using Ohm’s Law. The resistance value of each component should be measured with an ohmmeter, and based on the power supply voltage, the current consumption of each component can be calculated as follows:
